IPGu.net is a free public IP address lookup tool. Open the page to instantly see your public IP, approximate geolocation, ISP, ASN, and HTTP request headers your browser sends. No account or app required — available in Thai and English since 2008.

What is an IP Address?

An IP Address (Internet Protocol Address) is a unique identifier assigned to every device that connects to the internet — like a home address for the online world. Two formats exist: IPv4 (e.g. 203.0.113.1) and the newer IPv6 (e.g. 2001:db8::1), which supports far more devices.

How accurate is IP-based geolocation?

IP geolocation uses registration databases, not GPS — so it is always an approximation. Country-level accuracy is generally high, but city-level results can be off by tens of kilometres. Mobile network users and VPN users may see locations that differ significantly from their actual position.

What are ISP and ASN?

ISP (Internet Service Provider) is the company providing your internet connection — True, AIS, DTAC, NT, or 3BB in Thailand. ASN (Autonomous System Number) is a unique network identifier assigned to the organisation that operates the network, written as AS followed by a number (e.g. AS45758 for True Internet).

How do VPNs and proxies affect your IP?

When you use a VPN or proxy, IPGu.net shows the IP of the VPN/proxy server rather than your real IP. Your connection is routed through an intermediary first, so both the IP shown and the inferred location reflect the VPN server, not your physical location.

Does IPGu.net store my IP address or headers?

IPGu.net does not store visitor IP addresses in its own database. All data is fetched and displayed in real time only. Hosting and CDN providers may retain standard request logs per their own policies. See our Privacy Policy for full details, or learn more on the IP Addresses Explained page.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is my IP address?

An IP address is a unique number assigned to your device when you connect to the internet. IPGu.net shows your public IP — the one visible to websites and services online — not your local network address.

What is the difference between a public and a private IP?

Your public IP is assigned by your ISP and is visible on the internet. Your private IP (like 192.168.x.x) is used only inside your home or office network and is not directly reachable from the internet.

Why is my location shown incorrectly?

IP geolocation uses registration databases, not GPS, so it is always an approximation. Country-level accuracy is generally high, but city-level results can be off by tens of kilometres — especially for mobile and VPN users.

Does a VPN affect which IP is shown?

Yes. When you use a VPN, your traffic is routed through the VPN server first, so IPGu.net shows the VPN server's IP instead of your real IP. The location shown will reflect the VPN server's location.

Does IPGu.net store my IP address?

IPGu.net does not store visitor IP addresses in its own application database. Hosting and CDN providers may retain standard access logs per their own policies. See our Privacy Policy for details.

Is IPGu.net free to use?

Yes — completely free, no account required, no app to install. Available in Thai and English.
