What is IPGu.net?

IPGu.net is a free public IP address lookup tool for internet users in Thailand and worldwide. Open the page to instantly see your current IP address, approximate location (country, city, region), ISP, ASN, and the HTTP request headers your browser sends — no account, no app, no signup required. Available in Thai and English.

The name "IPGu" (ไอพีกู) is a Thai wordplay: IP + กู (gu) — an informal Thai first-person pronoun meaning "my." Together it reads "my IP" in casual Thai, matching the site's approachable, no-nonsense tone.

IPGu.net is a free, bilingual Thai/English public IP address lookup tool that has been serving Thai internet users since 2008. It shows public IP, geolocation, ISP, ASN, and HTTP headers with no signup required.

Why does this site exist?

IPGu.net launched in 2008 to give Thai internet users a native-language IP lookup tool — accessible, uncluttered, and in Thai. At the time, most IP lookup sites were English-only. The goal was a single-purpose tool with no friction: open the page, see your IP.

The current version (2026) is a complete rebuild using PHP 8.x with IPv6 support, bilingual UI, and modern MaxMind GeoLite2 geolocation — while keeping the same philosophy: fast, minimal, and no tracking.

Where does the data come from?

Location data (country, city, region) comes from the MaxMind GeoLite2 database, downloaded and stored on our server, updated regularly. Accuracy is generally high at country level but approximate at city level — results may vary for mobile network users, VPN users, and proxy traffic. Your IP is detected directly from your browser's connection to the server, supporting both IPv4 and IPv6.

The site runs on Hostinger shared hosting using PHP 8.x. No external JavaScript framework beyond Leaflet.js for maps. Intentionally lightweight and fast.

What IPGu.net does NOT do

IPGu.net does not store visitor IP addresses or HTTP headers in its own application database. It uses no tracking cookies, requires no account, and does not sell user data. That said, our hosting provider (Hostinger) and CDN/DNS provider (Cloudflare) may retain standard access logs per their own infrastructure policies.

History

IPGu.net first launched in 2008 as one of the early IP lookup tools for Thai internet users. Over more than 15 years it has been updated several times to add IPv6, bilingual support, and modern geolocation. The 2026 rebuild rewrites the full stack while keeping the original philosophy: fast, simple, no tracking.
