Does IPGu.net store my IP address?
IPGu.net does not store visitor IP addresses in its own application database. Every request is processed and displayed in real time only — there is no user database and no browsing history retained by our application.
However, our hosting provider and CDN provider may retain standard server access logs per their own infrastructure policies. See the relevant sections below.
What data is displayed to you
IPGu.net fetches and displays the following from your connection in real time:
- Your public IP address — the IP address visible to the server
- Approximate location — country, city, and region (not a precise street address)
- ISP and ASN — your internet service provider and network identifier
- HTTP request headers — metadata your browser sends with every web request
This data is shown only to you. It is not saved or forwarded anywhere by our application.
MaxMind GeoLite2 usage
Location data (country, city, region) is derived from the MaxMind GeoLite2 database, downloaded and stored on our server. Your IP address is never sent to MaxMind — all lookups happen locally on our server.
Geolocation results are approximate estimates, not precise physical addresses. Country-level accuracy is generally high; city-level results can be off by tens of kilometres.
Server logs and hosting provider
The site runs on Hostinger shared hosting. Hostinger may retain standard server access logs — including visitor IP addresses, timestamps, requested URLs, and HTTP status codes — per their standard hosting policies. These logs are subject to Hostinger's own privacy policy, not IPGu.net's.
Cloudflare and CDN processing
IPGu.net uses Cloudflare as its CDN and DNS provider. Your request may pass through Cloudflare's network before reaching our server. Cloudflare may log and process request data per the Cloudflare privacy policy.
Cookies
IPGu.net does not use tracking, analytics, or advertising cookies. No persistent session cookies are set. Language preference (?lang=) is passed as a URL parameter, not stored in a cookie.
Language and URL parameters
Language selection (Thai or English) is managed via the ?lang=th or ?lang=en URL parameter. These values are not stored in any database or cookie. Without a parameter, the system uses your browser's Accept-Language header to detect the preferred language (defaulting to Thai).
Limitations of IP geolocation
Location data shown is an approximation based on registration databases, not your actual physical address. Results may be inaccurate for:
- Mobile network users (your IP may be geolocated to the ISP's regional hub, which may be in a different city)
- VPN and proxy users (the IP and location shown reflect the VPN server, not your physical location)
- Newly assigned IP ranges not yet updated in the geolocation database
